PeopleSoft · Operate & Maintain

The governed AI operations layer for PeopleSoft.

An Agentic Blueprint product line for PeopleSoft clients across pillars — HCM, FSCM, Campus, and more: an audited MCP tool gateway, a registered-SQL runtime inside the ERP, and Advisor agents that diagnose batch, Integration Broker, period-end, and ops work without freehand SQL or ungoverned writes.

PeopleTools 8.62 lab-proven path Registered SQL only Tiered autonomy with full audit

Product stack

Three layers. One control path.

Land with the gateway and read-only Advisor work. Expand to managed operations only after telemetry and customer sign-off. Nothing executes write actions without an explicit autonomy tier and audit trail.

01 · Connect

PeopleSoft MCP Gateway

The access plane — the only component that holds PeopleSoft credentials. Agents connect as MCP clients; governance is enforced once for every model and runtime.

  • registered_sql_query — whitelist only
  • Process Monitor status & tier-gated actions
  • Integration Broker backlog monitor
  • Environment discovery sections
  • Environment Profile as a resource
  • Mock backend for offline demos
Best for AI-curious PeopleSoft shops that need a safe tool surface first
03 · Advise

Advisor Agents

The mission plane — focused operate-and-maintain jobs, not a sixteen-agent promise on day one. Portable skills plus per-client Environment Profile; no per-install fine-tunes.

  • Batch Operations Monitor
  • Period-end / cycle assurance (pre/post checks)
  • Incident Triage packaging
  • PeopleSoft skills bundle grounding
  • Measured false-positive discipline
  • Roadmap: IB ops, security, PUM analysis
Best for Design partners seeking operate-and-maintain leverage

Why this architecture

Defense in depth — outside and inside the ERP.

Agents never live inside PeopleTools. They sit in an Agent Host adjacent to the client environment. Writes, if ever allowed, go through Component Interface or Integration Broker with approval — never direct transactional DML.

What clients actually get

  • Layered knowledge — base model + portable PeopleSoft skills + per-client Environment Profile + curated knowledge store. Auditable, updatable, client-owned.
  • Two-layer SQL control — MCP tool schemas outside the ERP; registered-SQL whitelist inside. Misconfigured agents still cannot run freehand SQL.
  • Lab-proven delivery path — project generation, App Designer import, and golden-master PeopleCode strategy validated on PeopleTools 8.62 (lab environments include HCM; runtime is pillar-agnostic).
  • Complementary to vendor chat AI — focused on batch, Integration Broker, period-end assurance, upgrades, and incident packaging across pillars — not end-user self-service chat.

What stays internal

Internal manufacturing Customer-facing
Project XML generators & format validators Importable enablement projects
App Designer automation for golden masters Blob-bearing project export
Lab probe trails & research notes Versioned skills + MCP releases
Full agent catalog vision MVP: three Advisor missions first

Autonomy model

Start as advisor. Earn the right to act.

Every agent launches at Tier 1 for a new customer. Promotion is playbook-based, telemetry-backed, and customer-signed — never a prompt setting.

Tier 01

Advisor

Read-only investigation, digests, draft runbooks, period-end anomaly reports, PUM impact notes. Human executes.

Tier 02

Operator + approval

Proposes restarts, IB resubmits, or CI-based fixes. Human (or senior gate) approves. Agent executes and verifies.

Tier 03

Certified runbooks

Pre-approved overnight recovery only. Full audit, kill switches, humans on call. Not day-one sales language.

Trust & deployment

Built for production-grade caution.

Designed for private tenancy, regulated buyers, and review-first delivery. Model-agnostic runtime: frontier cloud, client-tenancy models, or local inference with tighter tier caps.

Least privilege

Dedicated service accounts, minimal permission lists, row-level security enforced by PeopleSoft — not by prompt instructions.

Service account · PL · RLS

Audit by default

Every MCP tool call logged (success or failure). In-ERP request audit on registered services. Correlation-ready for ITSM.

Client isolation

Environment Profiles and knowledge stores stay per client. Generic lessons promote to shared skills only after scrub and human approval.

No cross-tenant memory

Commercial packaging

Land low-risk. Expand on proof.

Packaging language matches autonomy reality. Advisor is the honest first conversation; Managed Operations is earned.

Advisor

Tier-1 agents: monitoring digests, period-end / cycle audits, PUM impact analyses, grounded Q&A on the client’s system — HCM, FSCM, Campus, or other pillars.

Per-module subscription

Managed Operations

Advisor plus Tier-2 execution with approval: batch babysitting, IB operations, ITSM-linked triage, patch planning.

Platform fee + per environment

Autonomous Ops

Certified Tier-3 runbooks with SLA, quarterly autonomy reviews, dedicated success engineer. After evidence only.

SLA-based annual contract

Next step

Design-partner pilot on non-prod.

Typical path: MCP + mock demo → registered SQL on non-prod (any pillar) → Batch Monitor Advisor for 30 days with accuracy scoring. Production writes stay approval-gated until you say otherwise.
